One of the first podcasts I subscribed to and subsequently became enamored with was Never Not Funny. Hosted by workhorse comedian Jimmy Pardo, his unique style of improvised and conversational humor has become one of the highlights of my week over the past 5 years that I’ve listened.  (And, to be honest, much of my early Super Art Fight hosting material was based on his persona.)

He’s long been running a live event called “The Writer’s Room” at the UCB Theater in Los Angeles, and the show nearly was picked up by Comedy Central under the title “Jimmy Pardo Needs Jokes”.  The concept is simple enough - a stand up performs, and a group of writers come up with roast style gags on the spot which Jimmy then reads and uses immediately after the comedian’s set.

It’s a really fun mixture of game show and humor, and luckly, the Nerdist Channel picked it up for distribution on YouTube as Write Now! With Jimmy Pardo.

The first episode went up earlier this week, and I enjoyed it enough that I felt like I had to share it with you.
