THE MUPPETS 2 News: Muppets Gone Europe?
While details remain quiet about the follow up to 2011’s The Muppets, based on casting, I think it’s safe to say Jim Henson’s creations are going international.
Thus far, the James Bobin directed sequel is looking for a Russian femme fatale, a male lead with “questionable intentions”, and an inspector from Interpol, leading one to believe that the sequel will be a tale of spies.
While you should expect numerous cameos like the first film, the casting for the Interpol inspector is enough to sell me - Christoph Waltz (Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained) is in negotiations for the role. I don’t know that there’s a single character actor who could generate more excitement about the film.
The Muppets 2 is in production, with no set release date at this time.
