It’s rare when I’m rendered speechless by a marketing move, but here we are.

In the ever so long lead up to the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, New Line Cinema has decided to release seventeen new posters for the movie.

Add that to the existing posters, and the still yet to be released final one-sheet, and you’re looking at a film that may have nearly 30 posters once it releases in December. Of course, I’ve presented all 17 below.

And this doesn’t even include however many posters the next two films in the Hobbit trilogy may receive. I sure hope the Tolkien fans have a lot of wall space.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey hits theaters on December 14th, 2012.
