Breaking news from Paramount Pictures - IMAX 3D screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will also come with an unexpected surprise when it hits theaters on December 14th, 2012.

Nine minutes of the highly anticipated Star Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness will be screened alongside the first installment of Peter Jackson’s next major trilogy.  Currently set to appear in 500 theaters across the United States, these 9 minutes were shot using IMAX cameras, and will serve as the first taste of the next installment in JJ Abrams reboot of the classic sci-fi series.

Star Trek Into Darkness arrives in theaters on May 17th, 2013.
