Bungie's DESTINY Leaks
You have to love marketing companies.
A document prepared by a marketing agency for the forthcoming release of Destiny, the up-until-recently top-secret first post Halo game from Bungie, leaked to IGN yesterday, revealing roughly a dozen images of concept art, not to mention the concept for the hotly anticipated game.
Bungie quickly confirmed the leak, and revealed an official piece of concept art themselves (pictured at the top of the post), inviting fans to “Go ahead.” and “Take a peak”.
According to the IGN leak, the game is a shooter which is “fun and accessible to all”, and “social to its core”, “designed for your inner seven-year old” and features “a world to explore with friends, both old and new.“  That would lend credence to the rumor that Destiny would be an MMO, but it may just be marketing speak for a strong online co-op element.
Here’s the official game synopsis from the leak:
Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young "knights" tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and — eventually — overcoming it.According to the leaked imagery, this game (Bungie's first released by Activision) will be available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and ultimately seems to confirm the game release schedule mentioned in the Activision lawsuit earlier this year with the creators of Call of Duty, where a 2013 release was mentioned.
I’ve included the images from the IGN leak below, but I highly recommend checking out the full article, linked in the source. Â As for my thoughts? This is some beautiful artwork. Here’s hoping the final game looks a tenth as beautiful. We know Bungie can do shooters, I look forward to the strong artistic element coming through.
