While Monsters Inc. may not have been everyone’s first choice for a sequel from Pixar, there’s no doubt that the first teaser trailer for the prequel, Monsters University (as attached to Brave) gave moviegoers some hope that seeing Sully and Mike in College would lead to comic gold.

We’re still about six months out from the film’s release, but Pixar is making sure that Monsters University is on your mind with two brand new posters.

The US poster is clean and simple enough, but I have to say, I almost enjoy the international poster more (below). Just love that messy dorm room feel.

Now, Pixar films have usually played it safe with their soundtracks, but a bit of news about the Monsters University soundtrack hit yesterday, and it sorta broke my brain.

Contributing to the soundtrack will be….Mastodon.

Yes, the southern metal gods will be doing a brand new song for Monsters University, as will Randy Newman, sayeth Consequence of Sound. How about that. What a combo.

Monsters University, bizarre soundtrack and all, will hit theaters on June 21st, 2013.
