The latest in the seemingly never ending series of Guillermo Del Toro projects is one which I certainly never saw coming.

Pan’s Labyrinth, Del Toro’s 2006 film, a haunting and moving dark fairy tale, will see a new life as a musical for the stage.

Details are still early, but Paul Williams, best known for writing songs for the Carpenters, Three Dog Night and David Bowie, as well as composing the Muppet classic “Rainbow Connection” and the score of Phantom of the Paradise, will be penning the lyrics. Gustavo Santaolalla, who composed the scores for Babel and Brokeback Mountain, is handling the music.

No word on dates or the location for the launch of the musical, but I for one cannot wait to see the Pale Man singin' and dancin'!
