I know we don’t really like Michael Bay much here (although I felt that Transformers: Dark of the Moon turned out way better than it should have), but it’s easy to forget how damn interesting his first films were.  Movies like The Rock and Bad Boys 1 & 2.  Well, I think Michael Bay is looking to get his old mojo back, as the first trailer for Pain & Gain has been released, and it’s full of the vivid colors, stupid action and crazy camera angles that made those movies great.

Here’s the trailer, with the synopsis following.

From acclaimed director Michael Bay comes “Pain & Gain," a new action comedy starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie. Based on the unbelievable true story of three personal trainers in 1990s Miami who, in pursuit of the American Dream, get caught up in a criminal enterprise that goes horribly wrong. Ed Harris, Tony Shalhoub, Rob Corddry, Rebel Wilson and Bar Paly also star. The film is based on magazine articles by Pete Collins, with a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and produced by Donald DeLine, Michael Bay and Ian Bryce.
Personally, I really like Dwayne Johnson, and in the right role, I'm pretty entertained by Mark Wahlberg. I can't say they've sold me a seat here yet, but I could see myself enjoying the movie.

Pain & Gain hits theaters on April 26th, 2013.
