Following in the footsteps as such great franchises as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman and Lord of the Rings, Travelers Tales has announced this morning that there will be a LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game hitting for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS systems.

Details are mostly light at this time (not surprising, considering release is still a year out), but the game intends to include over 100 playable characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Galactus, Loki, Thor, Black Widow, the Hulk, Hawkeye and Deadpool.  Of course, dozens of classic Marvel environments will be included in the gameplay, and you can assume it will remain the standard mix of light puzzle and platforming.

If the game is as fun and breezy to play as the prior installments, I’d say Travelers Tales has another hit on their hands.
