Here’s some very unexpected, yet awesome news - the theatrical adaptation of the DC/Vertigo comic Y: The Last Man is back on!

It’s been announced today that the film, based on the wonderful comic by Bryan K. Vaughn, is back in development, but with a new director in mind - Dan Trachtenberg.

Name sound familiar? Trachtenberg is best known across the web as the former host of Revision3 web show The Totally Rad Show which ended its run late last year.  Trachtenberg arrived on the radar of many in Hollywood with his amazing Portal: No Escape fan film.

Last in development with director DJ Caruso (Disturbia) and star Shia LaBeouf attached, the story stars an amateur magician named Yorick, the ssurvivor of a massive plague which elminates all men on Earth, with the notable exception of him. Running from 2002-2008, it’s one of the most beloved comic series of the modern era, and we at Blast-O-Rama can’t wait to see it come alive!
