Very exciting news out of the UK today, as British music staple NME has reported that French robot-head wearing musical duo Daft Punk has signed to a new label, signaling the release of new material for the first time in years.

Sony officially confirmed today that Daft Punk has left their long-time label of Virgin Records to join Sony’s Columbia Records label, and all indications are that a new Daft Punk album is finally to be released in Spring of this year.

While there have been many, many, many rumored collaborations for this new album, time will tell which are true and which were fake, as no further details are currently available for the long awaited fourth album from Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. This will mark their first album since 2005’s Human After All and first release since 2010’s Tron Legacy score.
