Even though filming has just begun on the Marc Webb directed sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, currently titled The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (I have a hunch it will get a different name before release), we have our first official piece of media from the film.

Sure, Webb has been releasing images here and there on his Twitter account, but they’re behind the scenes - this is real, and it shows a signficant change in the costume from before, as Spider-Man not only has much bigger eye-pieces, they are a sharp white, making the costume look even closer to the Mark Bagley/Ultimate Spider-Man look.

I really love this change - if it’s the only difference from the first movie costume (which I liked more than most), it’s a change for the better, but something tells me we’ll see more once we get a full body image.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborne, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson and Paul Giamatti as the Rhino. It is set to hit theaters on May 2nd, 2014.
