Remember how awesome the opening credits to Drive were?

I’d say half of what made that opening so great was the soundtrack - a song called “Nightcall”, composed by French electronica artist Kavinsky. It was the perfect jam for a contemplative night drive - and now, Kavinsky has dropped an entire album - titled OutRun.

Released this past Tuesday, I haven’t been able to stop listening to it, and if you want good music for driving, for focusing while working or just to jam out to - this album is it.

Very similar in vibe to fellow Frenchmen Justice, it’s a mixture of 80’s flair, solid guitar licks and all around balls-out dance synths. There’s also some weird storyline in the album about someone being killed and coming back to life via a Ferrari, but that’s only really addressed on the intro and outro. It’s a weird touch, but neither hurt nor helped the album for me.
