Ever since we first posted the concept art from the film, we’ve made no bones about our tentative excitement over Oblivion.

Yes, Tom Cruise is crazy, and yes Tron Legacy was prettier than it was smart, but between out of this world visuals and a promised score by the amazing M83, the positives of the Joseph Kosinski directed film are looking to outweigh the negatives.

That being said, with two new posters released exclusively by Entertainment Weekly, the excitement has been slightly dulled. The top poster certainly is evocative of the first released, with the Brooklyn Bridge this time in ruins.  However, the second poster, below, feels really bland. And knowing how these things go, will be the primary image pushed and become the DVD cover.

But, as they say, you cannot judge the book by its cover. We’re still hoping for another awesome trailer before release, just to push the ticket from a “maybe” to a “must go”. We’ll see.
