I have to admit, I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed Despicable Me. Between the Pharrell score, the surprisingly effective “Bad Guy Goes Good” story, and the adorable adopted sisters, it really stuck with me.

Thus far, the idea of Despicable Me 2 has been something I’ve enjoyed in theory, especially since the trailers so far have just been general teasers featuring the adorable-going-on-irritating Minions. This seemed to spell bad things for the movie. I mean, if they can’t market it with the actual film, what does that say?

You need not worry any longer, as the first official full trailer for the film has hit, and it features Gru, the girls, and yes, the Minions, as the plot this time takes the former villain into the side of good, as he is brought on to take down other super villains.

It looks like a madcap mixture of humor, heart, and thank goodness, gadgets, as Gru (Steve Carrell) attempts to save the day. Word is the bad guy this time will be played by Al Pacino, but he is nowhere to be seen? heard? in this footage.
