There have been many indie studio success stories over the past few years, but one of the strongest is of Supergiant Games, creators of the fantastic action-RPG Bastion.

Sure, WB Games helps fund them, but Bastion found incredible success on Xbox Live Arcade, Steam, and a perfect iOS port (which is where I discovered them).

They will be heading to PAX East next weekend, and wouldn’t you know it, have their next game in tow, another isometric action RPG called Transistor.

The first trailer was released today, and we’ve got it for you below.

The beautiful art and unique music returns for this game, featuring a female protagonist with “an extraordinary weapon of unknown origin”, which seems to be clearly inspired by the futures showcased in movies such as Blade Runner.

While no platforms have been announced for the game (I hope for iOS, personally), Transistor is set for an early-2014 release.
