While the kaiju monsters of Pacific Rim continue to be shrouded in secrecy (until the next trailer, probably), Warner Bros isn’t afraid to tease and taunt us with the scope and scale of these creatures.

Two new images from director Guillermo Del Toro’s next appeared today, and much like those we showcased earlier this week, the focus is on kaiju based damage and cleanup.

The cityscape above indicates that cities are willing to rebuild around the bones of fallen kaiju, and as the image below shows, the cleanup process after one of these baddies is defeated is not an easy process (and looks an awful lot like the Gulf Coast).

Now, if we’re looking at the hype and anticipation level for the film, a rare original property in this summer’s mix of sequels and adaptations, one thing comes to mind as a key of success - parody.

The filmmakers at The Asylum, responsible for such direct-to-video, grandmother confusing knockoffs as Snakes on a Train and Transmorphers are taking on Pacific Rim with their their next film - Atlantic Rim. Yes. Really.

No release date is announced for Atlantic Rim, which will star Naughty By Nature rapper Treach and Baywatch star David Chokachi, but sure enough, it’ll pop up on Netflix before you know it.

Pacific Rim, the real deal, hits theaters on July 12th.
