While the date of the announcement lead many to double-check the calendar, there are no April fool’s here - Pixar is officially moving ahead with a sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo - Finding Dory.

Set a year after the modern day animated classic, Finding Dory will once again include performances from Albert Brooks as Martin the Clownfish and Ellen DeGeneres as the ever forgetful Dory.

The plot is hazy at this point (the official press release described it as something about “learning the importance of family”, but director Andrew Stanton returns to the animated world with this film.

Personally, my feelings are mixed with this announcement - Nemo is one of the best movies of the Pixar lexicon, but with Cars 2, Toy Story 2 and 3 and this summer’s Monsters University, they are becoming a bit sequel heavy.  Although, two of those films are some of the best animated films ever made - so perhaps it will work out. At least we have two originals, The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out to look forward to in Summer 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Finding Dory hits theaters in November 2015.
