It’s been 4 long years since director Neill Blomkamp burst onto the scene with his fantastic sci-fi film District 9.  But he’s remained busy.

The one time Halo director seems to have ramped up with his latest project, attracting big names like Matt Damon and Jodie Foster to his new film, alongside his District 9 lead Sharlto Copley.

This is…Elysium.

It’s truly refreshing to see a fully realized sci-fi world on screen, especially with a director as confident as Blomkamp. Elysium certainly isn’t afraid of taking on a social idea either, seeming to focus on the issue of class warfare (literally), similar to how District 9 wasn’t afraid of facing apartheid.

Either way, this trailer certified my ticket, and I’m sure it grabbed you just as hard.  The hits just keep coming all summer long, don’t they?

Elysium hits theaters on August 9th.
