Set for release this November, Ender’s Game is one of the most anticipated sci-fi films of the year. Based off of the classic novel from writer Orson Scott Card, fans have been hoping for a theatrical adaptation for some time, and Summit Pictures will deliver later this year.

The first trailer was revealed last night thanks to Google, and we have it for you below.

What do you think? Personally, I feel rather…whelmed. Not overwhelmed, or underwhelmed, just whelmed.  Maybe it’s the visuals, maybe it’s the generic Inception thwommed process of the trailer, but something about this movie isn’t clicking for me so far.  They certainly have a rather decorated cast (and the trailer loves to prove that, noting everyone’s Oscar nominations), but nothing about this trailer got me excited.

Perhaps it’s my distance from the source material, but nothing here really blew me away.  Maybe a second trailer (or even the final product) can.

Ender’s Game hits theaters on November 1st.
