SDCC: Super7 Goes ALIEN Crazy With ReAction Exclusives
Last summer, while participating with a pre-Prometheus marathon of the Alien films, an arbitrary Google search on my phone lead to my discovery of some lost 3 3/4" (Star Wars sized) action figure prototypes for the original 1979 film.
As the original film is one of my favorites, I’m sure you can understand my excitement when San Francisco based toymakers Super7 announced they would be officially producing these Alien figures as a part of their first ReAction Figure Series (ReAction meaning “Retro Action”).
Thus far, they’ve released some really awesome retro fast food styled Alien glasses, but later this year the full five figure line will be released, and to celebrate, Super7 will have 4 absolutely brilliant exclusives available at their booth at San Diego Comic Con this year.
First we have the Alien ReAction Figure Early Bird Package.  Spoofing the Early Bird package which kicked off the original Kenner Star Wars line, you receive a cardboard box  filled with a figure display stage, a Space Club membership card, and stickers - plus this counts as a pre-order for the full, five figure line, which will be shipped to you at no additional charge, confirming your purchase of The Alien, Ripley, Ash, Dallas and Kane in his Nostromo Spacesuit.  This will run $100, or $125 for non-Continental US/International buyers.

Next is a really brilliant idea - a Discovered Sales Samples two-pack.  Going with the idea of the 1979 cancellation of the proposed Alien toyline, this two pack of the Alien and Kane casts them in blue plastic, proposing these figures as unfinished sales samples.  The figures come in a “Cancelled” box, and include a note to the sales staff, discussing the cancellation. This will run you $40.

Last, but far from least, are two great freebies - Alien ReAction Figure Bases, perfect for any 3 3/4" figure line, and a retro styled Figure Catalog, much like the figure catalogs of our youth. Â Both will be available at their booth for free.
If you’re at San Diego Comic Con, you  pretty much HAVE to see what Super7 is cooking up this year. Check them out at booth #5245.  The full Alien ReAction Figure line is due out this October.
