The US is no stranger to the Japanese teen superhero epic Gatchaman - brought to the US twice, once as Battle of the Planets and later as G-Force, fans across the globe are familiar with the young team’s bird suited antics.

Due out on August 24th in Japan, the live action film of the series is looking pretty damn good, so I thought I’d share the latest trailer with you.

Sure, it’s looking like The Avengers with a much smaller budget, but for fans of the franchise, this looks to deliver the goods.

No word yet on US distribution, but I’d imagine the Summer anime convention season may just result in one of the bigger studios announcing a state-side release.
