For once, The Simpsons isn’t doing something first, as Family Guy will be airing the episode that fans of both Fox Sunday night franchises have been looking forward to or dreading for years…

The Simpsons & Family Guy will be crossing over.

Set for a Fall 2014 air-date, the Family Guy episode, titled “The Simpsons Guy” features the Griffin family taking a road trip to Springfield, and most of The Simpsons voice cast will reprise their appropriate roles, including Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria.  Noticable by his absence is Harry Shearer, but perhaps none of his characters interact with the Griffins.

Personally, I would have preferred a Futurama/Simpsons crossover first, but this will do.
