Earlier this year, the beloved Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon was cancelled.  The cancellation didn’t come as much of a shock, as it was a project on a non-Disney network airing after Disney had purchased Lucasfilm.  Never the less, a cartoon shaped hole was left in the hearts of Star Wars fans around the world.

Worry no longer, as next Fall brings Star Wars Rebels, and the first details (including the logo, above) were revealed this past weekend at Star Wars Celebration in Germany.

Headed by Clone Wars producer Dave Filoni, the cartoon is set between Episode III and Episode IV and focuses on the early days of the Rebellion, before it was lead successfully by Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.  Focusing on a teen hero (still to be revealed), the first two pieces of concept art were showcased, which includes a look at the main ship from the series, called “The Ghost”, and some storyboards including a TIE Fighter.

More details are obviously to come, but in the meantime, you can get excited - Star Wars Rebels is set to premiere on The Disney Channel next Fall with a one-hour special, and air on Disney XD from there.
