It was just two months ago that Doctor Who fans around the world were shocked by Matt Smith announcing his departure from the series, ending the era of the 11th Doctor.

This weekend, however, we will see the new face of the Doctor, and find out the new path being set by showrunner Steven Moffat.

In a live television event which will be simulcast worldwide (BBC in the UK, BBC America here in the states, and so on), the 12th Doctor will be revealed and interviewed in a show hosted by Zoe Ball.  The special will also feature appearances from Moffatt and Matt Smith, who’s last episode will be this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special.
