I’m not sure if it’s a sign that I’m getting older, or if this season in particular has become more stacked over the years, but lately I’m finding myself looking more forward to the Christmas movie season than the Summer one.

So far, we already have American Hustle, Anchorman 2, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty to look forward to, but today we can add another film to the list of must sees around Christmas - The Monuments Men.

Based on the book by Robert M. Edsel, the film is based on the true story of a special Allied forces group who were enlisted with the task of saving art and other important cultural items during World War II, as Hitler intended to destroy them.

With an absolutely stacked cast headlined by George Clooney (who also produced and directed the film), the movie looks to shine with such fine talent as Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman and Bill Murray.  I’d be in on the cast alone, but with a plot that seems to mix Ocean’s 11 with World War II, this flick looks to be a can’t miss! Check out the first trailer, released yesterday, below.
