BREAKING: Continuing Marvel Studios unique and interesting actor picks, Marvel has announced today that actor James Spader will join the cast of the second Avengers film, Avengers: Age of Ultron as the titular villain, Ultron.

Spader is most recently known for his television work, including Boston Legal, The Practice, The Office and the forthcoming TV series The Blacklist, but he has built his career in interesting and eccentric performances in such films as Pretty In Pink, Less Than Zero, Crash and Stargate. Now he gets to take on Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and the gang.

Avengers: Age of Ultron, written and directed by Joss Whedon, hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
