YOUR MOVE, MOVIE GOERS: The First Trailer For The 2014 ROBOCOP Remake
If you heard the screams of many fanboys last night, chances are, it was due to the release of the first official trailer for the 2014Â Robocop remake.
That, or well, they watched the Ravens game last night.
Either way, fans of the 1987 original have long worried about the results of the JosÁ© Padilha directed remake, and with our first look at footage from the film its…I don’t know, not as bad as expected?
Here, check it out for yourself:
First things first - the armor definitely looks way better in silver, and you can tell that this is a decidedly PG-13 take on the character, given how Alex Murphy is burnt terribly, as opposed to shot up to all hell.
That said - it doesn’t look completely awful. Â Unless the entire film is built around the low-budget looking “Robocop vs. Drones in a Warehouse” scene shown multiple times in the trailer, there’s some potential, at least in the hammy performances of Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackon and Samuel L. Jackson’s hairpiece - no matter how much of a black hole that lead Joel Kinnaman looks to be in the suit.
No matter how it breaks, you can at least say this already - Robocop 2014 will be the 2nd best Robocop film to date.
Robocop brings justice to theaters on February 7th, 2014.
