The ever expanding Fast & Furious franchise is coming full-circle with the seventh installment, as Universal has just announced the signing of Lucas Black (The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift) to appear in the seventh installment of the car racing franchise.

Lucas Black’s character Sean hasn’t been seen since the beloved third installment of the film, where he sought tutelage from the ill-fated Han (Sung Kang).  Han was brought back for the fifth and sixth installments of the series, and in the post-credits scene, his death at the end of Tokyo Drift was explained, setting a unique chronology of the series of 1-2-4-5-6-3-7.

Never the less, it’s clear this death will bring Sean out of the woodwork to go after the mastermind…who I won’t ruin the reveal of, as Fast & Furious 6 is yet to hit home video.

According to Deadline, the deal to bring Lucas Black into the fold for the seventh installment includes a deal for an eighth and ninth film in the Fast & Furious series. Guess I’m delaying a purchase of that box set.
