From the “Why Didn’t They Think Of This Earlier” department, Warner Bros has announced that a new series called Gotham will hit Fox next year.

The series will focus on the pre-Batman adventures of Jim Gordon and the Gotham Police Department.

Is it any wonder that this was announced right after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s pilot aired?
