gravity

In a great sign for the future of film, this weekend’s top movie at the box office is Gravity, which came in at $55 Million, making for the greatest non-sequel October opening, and career highs openings for leads Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

Why is this a great thing, besides Alfonso Cuaron continuing to get to make risky films and a movie I was really rooting to do well, doing well? This is a decided vote from the movie going public - if you make something interesting and original, they WILL see it. It doesn’t always have to be sequels.

And as always, remember, for how well the movie turned out, there are a million ways it could’ve gone wrong. Like having a missile attack, or a romance, or something.
