This is really kind of awkward and gross.

This year, New York Comic Con moved to a new badge system, with built-in RFIDs to help prevent counterfeiting and to get a better idea of the popular sections of the convention - as you’d now have to scan-in/scan-out from the convention.

When registered attendees got their badge, they had to formally register them, and apparently part of that was the ability to add your Twitter and Facebook accounts to your registration.

What the attendees didn’t know was…NYCC would then take that opportunity to tweet about themselves from your account.

Suffice to say, the Internet is up in arms. We’ll see how the convention addresses this in the days to come.
