NYCC 2013: Marvel Goes Huge With 'All-New Marvel NOW' Announcements
It certainly felt like that New York Comic Con 2013 was a huge con for Marvel Comics.
Maybe it’s because they announced pretty much every new book of their 2014 slate, and honestly, I’m hard pressed to think of one that sounds bad.
Here’s what all got revealed over the course of the weekend…
- Guardians of the Galaxy and All-New X-Men will cross over for "The Trial of Jean Grey" (I love the ANXM team's space suits)
- A new lineup will hit for Secret Avengers, Avengers Arena will become Avengers Undercover, Loki gets his own book with Loki: Agent of Asgard - as does Black Widow, and another Jonathan Hickman plotted Avengers title will be released with Avengers World.
- Marvel announced Marvel Universe LIVE!, a live arena show (think Disney On Ice, but no ice).
- New relaunches were announced for Iron Patriot (the former War Machine), Ghost Rider, and most excitingly, Silver Surfer (with Mike Allred on art!)
- Even more new books are on their way for The Punisher, Elektra, the 90's favorites The New Warriors, and a relaunch for Captain Marvel
- And finally - perhaps most excitingly - 25 years later, Marvel has announced the republishing - and completion of the unfinished final issue - of Miracleman, which is to be written by Neil Gaiman.
