Not sure how I forgot to post about this here, when I fangirled about it yesterday on Twitter…

Guillermo del Toro has confirmed in multiple interviews this week that a script for Pacific Rim 2 is currently in development.

Del Toro confirmed that he is writing it with original Pacific Rim screenwriter Travis Beacham, and well, that’s about all we know.

Past rumors have included a Kaiju-Jaeger hybrid appearing in the film, as well as Newt Geiszler (Charlie Day) being the villain.  That said, a script does not equal that the film is in production, so keep that breath held a little longer.
