I first laid eyes upon this teaser trailer last night along with The Hobbit, and it’s incredibly effective.

Directed Gareth Evans (Monsters), this first official peak at the new US interpretation of Godzilla grabbed me from the first shot of the skydivers falling into the city, and rewatching it, I am completely in. Featuring a cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston, you can’t go wrong.

And how damn cool does it look?

Godzilla hits theaters on May 16th.
