The Wachowski's Return To Sci-Fi With 'Jupiter Ascending'
It’s been 10 long years since The Wachowski’s gave us their last pure sci-fi creation, with the final part of the Matrix trilogy. This summer, they return to an original sci-fi creation (after producing V for Vendetta and Ninja Assassin, directing the Speed Racer adaptation, and taking on the flawed but ambitious Cloud Atlas) - with a brand new film, Jupiter Ascending.
Starring Channing Tatum as a genetically engineered ex-military solider who comes to Earth to tell the titular Jupiter (Mila Kunis) that she needs to take her place as the rightful heir as Queen of the Universe, the film looks ridiculous and genre pushing - simply put, the Wachowski’s doing what they do best.
Jupiter Ascending hits theaters on July 25th. I’m in.
