In an announcement I find an incredible bummer, Irrational Games’s lead Ken Levine has posted that the innovative studio is no more.

Most notable for the creation of BioShock and BioShock Infinite, the studio has been paired down to a small group of 15, which Levine will guide to create digital only titles that “make narrative-driven games for the core gamer that are highly replayable.”

I absolutely feel for the roughly 180 people who have lost their job in this process, and just as much feel bad for the gaming industry, that such a titan of innovation has to be segmented in this way.

Either way, I look forward to Ken Levine’s new teams output, and will continue to support them with my hard earned dollar.
