…Adam Driver, of Girls and Frances Ha fame, if you believe the word of Variety.

The news broke on Friday, and thus far, there’s been no direct denial (or confirmation) from Lucasfilm, Disney or JJ Abrams - so, this is about as solid a lock as we can take at this time.

Variety says that Driver is set to sign on as the main villain of the film, a villain in the vein of Darth Vader - so lets read that as Sith Lord.

Personally, I’ve never really gotten Adam Driver, but considering he’s apparently landed a role in the biggest blockbuster of the past few decades - and almost had his hand in Superman vs. Batman, if the rumors are true. So clearly, he’s auditioning well and doing something right that I’ve yet to see come out of him.

Maybe we’ll see it in Christmas 2015, lightsaber in hand.
