Oculus Rift

Didn’t you guys hear? Virtual Reality is the big thing today, between the indie Kickstarted Oculus Rift and Sony’s big plans for it’s just unveiled Project Morpheus.

However, the "tomorrow’s future: today, again" thing got either a big push or totally derailed today as Facebook officially announced their purchase of Oculus.

The latest of a series of major purchases by the big blue social network, this VR company joins Whats App and Instagram, as it has been purchased for $2 Billion.

Realistically, the purchase was for $400 Million in cash, plus a lot of stock in Facebook. So -  $2 Billion value, but we all saw how that MySpace money worked out.

ANYWAY!

The fallout from this remains to be seen, but so far, Minecraft creator Notch (also known as one of the most important and outspoken producers in the world of indie games) has stated that this officially has killed his interest in all things Oculus.
