It certainly feels like the golden era of Fast Food related movie tie-ins has died off somewhat.

I can’t recall the last time 7-Eleven had a proper Slurpee movie tie-in (Iron Man 2?), and honestly, many movies these days avoid the combination entirely (The Amazing Spider-Man 2 got McDonald’s Happy Meal toys, but that’s about it) - but that hasn’t stopped a whole slue of tie-ins for X-Men: Days of Future Past to hit just before the May 23rd release of the film.

We’ve seen Carl’s Jr./Hardees tie-ins, we’ve seen special pretzels - hell, there’s even X-Men Axe Body Spray. But the latest, may be the weirdest!

Behold the eXtreme Creme Twinkie. Coming in Blue Raspberry and Strawberry varieties, this deadly snack cake takes the classic Twinkie brand and makes it EXTREME, the perfect compliment to a vintage 2000 bottle of Surge.

This marks the first “special edition” snack food from Hostess since their return last summer.
