Released in theaters alongside Godzilla (and hitting the web this past Friday), the new trailer for Interstellar - the latest film by Christopher Nolan - has been bouncing around in my brain for days, and I don’t see it leaving until November, when the film finally releases.

Is it the fact that the movie deals with a not-so-impossible future where we’ve lost all our natural resources? Is it the adoration of space exploration? Or is it the fact that for once, after watching a trailer, I have no idea where a film will lead?

It’s probably all these things and more.

Christopher Nolan has long been criticized (especially since his Batman films) of having a dour outlook, and yet this movie seems from the two trailers released thus far to carry the big ideas of Kubrick, yet a Spielberg-esq heart. There’s an optimism here, even if it is an ill fated one.

Interstellar has been on the top of my most anticipated list ever since the title came across my eyes on this here internet. Now, with the countdown clock set for November 7th, and with footage like this releasing, I believe we will truly have something special this Fall.

If you don’t mind me, I’ll now be watching this trailer again. Join me, won’t you?
