Movies
Lots of movement coming from the Star Wars camp this week!- Director JJ Abrams took to Twitter to scold those sites posting photos from the set of Star Wars: Episode VII (pictured at the top of the post), while making a tongue-in-cheek reveal of his own.
- The Episode VII cast got even bigger and better, with the additions of Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave) and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones)
-Another stand alone Star Wars film was given a director - Josh Trank, of Chronicle and the soon-to-film Fantastic Four reboot!
While Marvel Studios still hasn’t settled on an Ant Man director yet, that hasn’t stopped them from making moves on other films.
-It’s all been confirmed that Josh Brolin (No Country For Old Men) will be playing Thanos both in Guardians of the Galaxy and a forthcoming Avengers sequel.
-The long awaited Doctor Strange movie got closer to reality, with the appointment of director Scott Derrickson (Sinister) and a strong rumor that Jared Leto is being asked to play the Sorcerer Supreme.
And in other news…
- Hercules continues to look like the guilty pleasure of the Summer, with its new trailer, above. The movie hits on July 25th.
- If you were looking forward to Jupiter Ascending, the next sci-fi film from the Wachowski’s, bad news - it just got pushed until February 2015.
- Gaming fans, get excited - Sony’s apparently ready to move forward with a Metal Gear Solid movie, with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) in discussions to take on the movie. What’s with all these indie directors jumping right up to big budget blockbusters?

Well, this is a bummer. WB Games also announced that Batman: Arkham Knight was being pushed from its Fall 2014 release date into 2015. But hey, we have a cool new look at the Batmobile, so that should hold us for a bit…right? But wait, what’s with all the guns?
Music
