Daily Blast: June 10th, 2014
A new look at Disney’s Big Hero 6, a creepy 3D Spongebob, Rooney Mara and David Fincher news, and the MOST EXTREME SUNNY DELIGHT EVER cap off today’s Daily Blast. Strap in and read on!
Movies
At the top of the post: The adorable, doughy robot Baymax takes center stage on the new poster for Big Hero 6.The real stars of Guardians of the Galaxy? Groot and Rocket, for sure. Fandango has the first of a series of character posters coming this week, and the best characters take center stage first.
Now that they’ve blown people away with the Jump Street and LEGO movies, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are discussing a Clone High movie. How do I kickstart the shit out of this idea?
With Josh Brolin and George Clooney joining the new Cohen Brothers film, Hail Caesar!, is there any reason to NOT see it?
Looks like Rooney Mara and director David Fincher might re-team on the spy film Red Sparrow. I’m in!
The Franco Brothers (Dave and James) are making a movie about the making of The Room. I think we’ve reached peak Franco.
Speaking of Dave Franco, Neighbors was one of the true surprises of the Summer so far. Discussions have started for a sequel, but I have to ask - what loose ends were left to necessitate one?
Joshua Jackson really wants a Mighty Ducks 4. You and me, Josh. You and me and that evil Icelandic hockey team.
I really dig these street art styled posters for the new Ninja Turtles movie.
Gaming
[www.youtube.com/watch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8109dIuc-bo)I really love the art style of the forthcoming PS4 indie title, Night in the Woods.
To the surprise of few, the sequel to first-person mech vs. pilots shooter Titanfall is in development, and the one-time Xbox exclusive title should be available for the PlayStation 4 as well this go around.
Look for more gaming news in our look at yesterday’s E3 Press Conferences!
Tech
Apparently Apple went straight to the FDA when they started designing the HealthKit integration in iOS 8. Savvy move.
TV
Comedy Central is smart - they just renewed Inside Amy Schumer, TripTank and (praise the lord) Review.
Food
Sunny Delight apparently isn’t cutting it anymore, so in their ongoing battle against Purple Stuff, they’ve stepped up to the plate with a new energy drink - the aggressively named SunnyD X.
See you tomorrow with more news you can use from all around the web! Let us know in the comments how you’re enjoying these Daily Blasts!
