YET ANOTHER Resident Evil movie! A new look at Expendables 3! More Scooby-Doo! And…the best cat-based video game ever.
Happy Wednesday! Let’s do this!
Movies
-At the top of the post: the Resident Evil series is getting a SIXTH installment. But thankfully, it's titled Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.- Is it weird that the person I’m most excited to see in The Expendables 3 is Kelsey Grammer?
-Â Scooby-Doo is getting a reboot. Because, well, it’s been a while since a new movie, I guess.
- This international trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy features a bunch of new footage. Personally, I’m holding out from seeing anything more, but enjoy!
-Â Transformers: The Premake is a unique look at the creation of a blockbuster film, and also the interaction between a large studio and its audience. Definitely worth a watch.
TV
- While I still have no interest in the Heroes Return miniseries on NBC, fans would be happy to hear that Jack Coleman will be a part of the series, reprising his role as HRG (Horn Rimmed Glasses).
- Continuing the reboot train, but a more promising one, the BBC will bring back Danger Mouse in 2015.
Gaming
- First-person cat simulator game Catlateral Damage is going for Kickstarter funding. At just over 50% funding with 23 days to go, this looks like it’s going to happen, but if you wish to try a web version of the game, you can here.
- The “I’m Not A Hipster” Update hit Grand Theft Auto Online yesterday, including hipster style clothing and cars, in addition to new missions for the online expansion for Grand Theft Auto V.
- Zach Braff produced Video Games: The Movie, a new documentary about the current world of video games and the history that lead up to it. Look for it on VOD July 15, with a limited theatrical run starting July 18.
- Team Fortress 2 is getting a new update, called Love & War, which among other things, includes new dancing taunts. To celebrate it, Valve has released a new animated short.
Comics
- 90’s Comics Fans, get excited! Christopher Priest and M.D. Bright are returning to Valiant Comics to pick up where they left off with Quantum & Woody, with the original run being collected in a large-format hardcover.
Toys
- This year’s Star Wars Hallmark Keepsake Ornament will be of LEGO Boba Fett.
Music
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m86ae_e_ptU- OK Go continues their run of inventive music videos with this new clip for “The Writing’s On the Wall”, off their new album Hungry Ghosts.
Have a great day and see you tomorrow!
