Daily Blast: August 18th, 2014
Hey folks! Did you miss me?
It’s good to be back from vacation. Seems like quite a few things happened while I’m gone, so today’s Daily Blast is all about hitting some of the high points I missed while I was gone, while maybe spotlighting some news you missed. Either way, it’s good to be back.
At the top of the post: Seems like IndieRevolver.com sure put themselves on the map this week, with a LOT of Star Wars: Episode VII leaks. I’ll spare you the super spoilery ones, but it looks like we’ve got a legit look at the new Stormtrooper helmets, which look DOPE AS HELL.
Movies
- Sorry, large, populated cities! Godzilla 2, which will once again be directed by Gareth Edwards - after he finishes a Star Wars film - is now set for a June 8, 2018 release.
- Want to see a trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s next movie, The Hateful Eight? Looks like you’ll have to go see Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. Suddenly, a reason to see that movie in theaters was found.
- Twenty-Four by Thirty-Six is a forthcoming documentary ALL about the creation of movie posters, and if this teaser is any indication, it’s going to be a must watch.
- In an awkward move, Warner Bros appears to be countering the box office failure of the GREAT Edge of Tomorrow by renaming it Live. Die. Repeat. for home video. Whatever works, I’m just gonna tell you to see it.
Tech
- So, uh…Tom Hanks released a Typewriter app. Really.
Gaming
- Sneakily revealed last week as a demo named P.T., it looks like the next installment of Silent Hill will be co-directed by Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima of Metal Gear Solid fame, and virtually star The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus as the lead.
Comics
[www.youtube.com/watch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxnmeHHEGeQ)- It looks like Lintika Films is working on a stop-motion Usagi Yojimbo flick, and to get people excited, they released this AWESOME short film. I am in love with this.
Toys
- Wow. The Hot Toys Arkham City styled Batman figure is pretty damn impressive.
Good to be back folks. Be back tomorrow with another Daily Blast, including some awesome Super Art Fight news!
