Daily Blast: August 25, 2014
Good morning and a happy Monday to you, dear reader!
I hope you had a great weekend! Evidently the entire world did, as it was a very quiet weekend for nerdy news, so - I’m sorry, but here’s a less stacked than usual Daily Blast for your Monday. I blame the Simpsons marathon.
I expect like, Episode VII to leak today or something, based on how quiet everything was. Never the less, enjoy, and read on.
At the top of the post: Amazingly, this story took two years to break. Apparently, during the filming of The Dark Knight Rises, Tom Hardy took it upon himself to crash a wedding while dressed as Bane. My wedding will - officially - never compare.
Movies
- Thanks to the magic of Reddit, if you were looking for an official superhero movie scorecard, we have one in this great DC vs. Marvel infographic. You can click to make it all sorts of large!
Gaming
- This is clever -Â Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS will feature a special “sleep” mode, where the game will be paused, and your system can be closed, but you can still listen to the game’s soundtrack.
- Capcom has opened a Teespring store to increase the funds going to the winners of their upcoming Capcom Pro Tour fighting game tournament series. The winners get more money, you get sweet shirts. Sounds pretty win-win, right?
Toys
- I’d say this is a spoiler, but, almost everyone’s seen the movie already (nearing $500 Mil worldwide), so…here’s your look at the first official Baby Groot toy, coming from Funko! Needs more automated dancing, I feel.
Food
- Good job, Japan! A fast food restaurant in Japan is now officially combining two of the world’s greatest foods - a Hamburger and Spaghetti - in a combination they’re calling a Neapolitan Burger. Created by chef Tatsuya Kawagoe, it’ll run you $4.
See you tomorrow for more Daily Blast action!
