Daily Blast: September 10 and 11, 2014
Good morning and hello! Sorry for the missed edition yesterday. Real life happened.
Man oh man, I am tired today. Lots of Destiny playing last night. In case you’re wondering - I have a Level 8 Hunter. Very fun game so far - I especially love the social elements.
Anyway, that’s not what we’re here to discuss! We’re here to talk Nerdy News! And that’s what we’ll do! Because this! IS YOUR (Batman heavy)Â DAILY BLAST!
In today’s edition:
- BEHOLD THE NEW BATMOBILE!
- AÂ 22 Jump Street Gag Becomes Real!
- An ugly new 3DS, that isn't the NEW 3DS!
- The DC Comics Movies May Go Cosmic!
- AND SO MUCH MORE!
At the top of the post: Zack Snyder has released a photo of the new Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, after Instagram photos leaked from the set. You can click it to view a WAY bigger version. It reminds me quite a bit of the new Batmobile in the Batman: Arkham Knight game.
Movies
- Rumor has it that, inspired by the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, Warner Bros is now developing a movie based on DC Comics’ Legion of Superheroes.
- In possible Ouroboros news: Sony is moving forward with 23 Jump Street. I kinda thought we said all we had to say about that with the end credits of 22 Jump Street?
- Not sure how they’re going to sequelize this, but Now You See Me 2 is set for a June 10, 2016 release.
- Jeff Goldblum does a beautiful rendition of the Jurassic Park theme in this video from Late Night with Seth Meyers.
TV
- HBO’s The Newsroom premieres its final, 6 episode season on November 9.
Tech
- Apparently Sony’s working on an Internet TV service? And now it’s going to feature full fledged cable channels from Viacom? Here’s hoping this shakes up the whole monopoly of cable TV…
Gaming
- Before the Nintendo 3DS is replaced by The New Nintendo 3DS (really it’s name), there will be a few limited edition 3DS XLs coming, including this ugly NES variant.
- LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, like so many other games, is getting a DLC Season Pass. At least the bonus characters look pretty awesome. Sadly, I doubt Dark Knight Rises Bane will talk…
- It looks like Microsoft may be buying Mojang, creators of the gaming monolith known as Minecraft for $2 Billion. Apparently, in the transition -  their founder, Notch, will leave. He’s always said $2 Billion was his number anyway.
- Sherlock Holmes is looking way bishi in the new Ace Attorney game.
Comics
- DC Comics has announced a Darwyn Cooke Variant Month for December, with all the covers drawn by the DC The New Frontier artist. I’m in love with these covers, and wish it were how DC Comics actually looked every month.
- Peter Parker takes a job at the Jean Grey School when Spider-Man & The X-Men launches this December.
Toys
- I kinda love how horrifying and adorable the new Batman:Â Arkham Asylum-styled Funko POP! figures are.
- NECA has announced the latest series in their The Simpsons: 25 of the Greatest Guest Stars line, including: Buzz Aldrin, Tom Jones, Elvis Costello, Weird Al, and Aerosmith.
- Threezero has posted more photos of their stunning Eddard Stark figure, from Game of Thrones.
Music
[www.youtube.com/watch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ5jLSHwNIM)- Video of the end credits of the video game Destiny have hit the web, and with it, our first listen to the theme Paul McCartney recorded for the game, “Hope For The Future”.
Food
- Burger King Japan has made the burger of my nightmares, the Black Burger.
That’s all for today. Have a wonderful Thursday!
