Apatow Returns To TV: Netflix picks up Gillian Jacobs Starring 'Love'
Having made his name with the brilliant, before their time shows of Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared, Judd Apatow is returning to television with a brand new series for Netflix.
Titled Love, the series was co-created by Apatow, alongside Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer Lesley Arfin, and series star Paul Rust (I Love You Beth Cooper). Co-headlining with Rust will be Gillian Jacobs of Community fame.
The series “follows Gus (Rust) and Mickey (Jacobs) as they navigate the exhilaration and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, and other things they were hoping to avoid.” Or, your standard Apatow relationship exploration.
What makes this very interesting is that Netflix has already committed to two seasons - Season 1, running 10 episodes, and Season 2, running 12 episodes.
Jacobs will first return to the Yahoo! exclusive sixth season of Community, but Love looks to premiere in 2016.
