Following the tragic death of actor Paul Walker, Fast & Furious 7 - now titled Furious 7 (continuing the strangest naming convention in film series history) - has had a long and hard road to the screen.

This weekend, the first trailer for the James Wan-directed film has hit the web and it’s honestly everything a fan of the Fast & Furious Franchise could want.

Primarily focusing on a high-stakes breakout sequence featuring one super powered bus full of baddies and four cars featuring our car-crazed heroes, the Furious 7 trailer gives fans the positive first impression they need heading into the April 2015 release.

What’s interesting is how much the Fast & Furious franchise has changed from a car stunt based series to one based on characters and mythology, in fact, there seem to be a number of NON-vehicle related action sequences in this one!

I applaud the marketing team from not avoiding sequences showcasing Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner, and while this may end up being the final part of the long-running series, Furious 7 is looking like it delivers on the promise made with the soft-reboot of Fast Five - crazy action, amazing vehicles, and above all - family.

Furious 7 revs into theaters on April 3, 2015.
