Arguably the Marvel Studios movie with the most troubled road to the big screen, Ant-Man sneaks in this Summer as the final Phase 2 movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and as a pallet cleanser between the serious 1-2 punch of Avengers: Age of Ultron and the Phase 3 kickoff Captain America: Civil War.

A brand-new trailer has hit the web today for Ant-Man, and honestly - it seems pretty fun. This is a pretty significant step up from my reaction to the first teaser trailer (a decided ‘eh’), and shows that at the end of the day, director Peyton Reed, writer Adam McKay, and co-writer/star Paul Rudd may have found the good stuff even after Edgar Wright departed the film.

I have to say, I love how every major “superhero movie beat” the film isn’t afraid to get silly or irreverent. I do wonder, however - is the toy train gag too silly for audiences to want to come in droves?

We’ll find out on July 17th, when Ant-Man hits theaters.
